   The Spoon River is between Marietta and Smithfield, north and east of   
   Macomb, Illinois. The 1890 bridge was destroyed September 16, 2013;   
   a load of corn syrup from ruptured tank cars poured into the river,   
   creating a quite a lot of water pollution.   
      
   There was some fear that the railroad wouldn't be re-assembled, so this

   The short line was assembled of former Rock Island and Toledo, Peoria,   
   and Western trackage in the 1980's. Trolley cars run over the Mississippi   
   River bridge, electrified till just a couple of years ago; now they're   
   pushed with a small diesel engine.
