   What, exactly, do you think the turnstile is doing before it unlocks the   
   rotating bar? It's validating your fare.   
      
   To read your statement any other way implies that POP requires   
   smartcards, and while it's obvious you don't really understand how POP   
   works, I can't believe you're truly _that_ ignorant.
