   Light-rail does not mean light-weight.  The equipment used for heavy   
   rail on an exclusive right of way weighs less than what has to be used   
   for light rail on a shared right of way in the US.  Where a light rail   
   line has exclusive use of the right of way during the hours it   
   operates, it is allowed to use lighter equipment.
