   Looking at a few photographs, mounting the cylinders at the inward   
   ends of the engines would generally seem to put them foul of the   
   solebar of the centre section. It only seems to have been done with   
   smaller narrow-gauge locomotives where the centre section allows more   
   clearance above smaller cylinders, e.g. B-G K1 class :-
