   Actually, considering recent discussion that anyone can see by looking   
   at past post subjects, it is possible to see that there are a number of   
   us posting here that care about what is going on with these trains.   
      
   However, track condition is only a small part of what is going on. The   
   fact is that track is rated for certain speeds, and the rating is not   
   based on if it is acceptable for one type of train to derail and other   
   types not.   
      
   If track is truly in bad condition, it becomes "excepted" by the FRA and   
   hazardous materials are not allowed to move over it.   
      
   So, apparently the FRA doesn't think this track was in bad enough   
   condition to take it out of service.
