Trains can't do that.        J> Rail is so last century.              Actually studies have been done that would be much more efficient with       light rail... since the route will go directly through existing tracks       in Fort Knox. As it is, all the major highways have to GO AROUND ft.       knox but having the rail it could speed through, stop in the center       giving veterans access to much needed medical services on post, and       then continue to Elizabethtown. The route would span close to 220       miles back and forth counting going up into Indiana.              Bus service here in Louisville is abysmal.... our highways are poorly       designed and there is little park and ride areas. A central station       downtown could route from the Indiana / east Louisville / west       Louisville and South Louisville (downtown is the most northern part)       and feed off. The large train stop areas could be served by regional       buses. Etown is it's own city with it's own tax base. Louisville is       it's own city with a conglomeration of smaller surrounding cities.              This could benefit the state and would eventually add a route to       Frankfort (the state capital) which is about 170 miles away from       Louisville, Georgetown KY (toyota is very interested in this route       since they bus workers from Louisville and LExington to their Camry       plant) it would get their workers there quicker and connect the three       major metro cities together eventually.... Louisville, Lexington and       Covington (which is across the river from Cincinnatti)              Allen              ...
