OK, so       even if Delta offered that price on a particular flight but on the next       flight the fare was the usual $500-ish, big deal. Just because something       is offered does not mean anyone that is sane must take the offer. It was       certainly not a very widespread phenomenon, widespread enough to be as       alarmist aas NY Times made it.              And of course it is true too, that since the presence of Amtrak service       has made providing air service on the corridor not as lucrative,       equipment has been moved out to elsewhere. Where the heck were the       airlines supposed to find equipment to backfill the need for a few days?       Take equipment away from other because New York is oh so important?              --- SoupGate/W32 v1.03        * Origin: LiveWire BBS -=*=- UseNet FTN Gateway (1:2320/1)    |
