80 (Carolinian) involved in the accident was bus bridged to Richmond to
board a makeup train for the rest of their journey.

79 (Carolinian) that day was bus bridged from Richmond to Raleigh to
continue their journey on a makeup train from Raleigh.

89 and 90 (Palmetto) were bus bridged between Richmond and Rocky Mount
to board makeup trains at those respective points for onward journeys to
   destination.

91 (Silver Star) and 97 (Silver Meteor) were terminated at Washington DC
with accommodation provided on the same trains the following day + hotel
   and meals.

92 (Silver Star) and 98 (Silver Meteor) continued as usual with delays
through the accident location after track was restored.

52 and 53 (Auto Train) ran 3 to 6 hours behind schedule the day of the
accident. 53 was apparently the first train to pass the cleared site of
the accident in Halifax NC, at around 2am.

The following day 80 (Carolinian) was bus bridged from Raleigh to
Richmond due to lack of equipment. Two days later (on the 11th) 98
(Silver Meteor) was cancelled out of Miami, with passengers accommodated
on an enhanced 92 (Silver Star) (and on the following day) due to
unavailability of full consist as a result of cancellation of 97 (Silver
Meteor) the day of the accident. The following day 98 (Silver Meteor)
ran with extra Coaches to accommodate spillover load.

Equipment was cobbled together from spares and from maintenance
expedited in Hialeah, to put together the consist of 92 (Silver Star)
for the 11th out of Miami, since the usual equipment was caught up in
the cancellation of 91 (Silver Star) due to the accident. It ran with an
extra Sleeper and Coach over and above its normal consist.

Any trains not mentioned ran as usual.

Hope that helps the curious whet their curiosity. :)
