The only advantage that I see is that it will move many of the Amtrak
passengers across the street, and there will be more room for NJT
passengers in the current Amtrak waiting room.

That space will probably never be visited by many NJT passengers because
of its out of the way location. I will probably go over there once when
it's done to see it, but otherwise I do not see why I would ever go over
there, even to ride Amtrak, especially if they continue to post track
assignments in the current space. The only exception I would make would
be to use the Metropolitan Lounge when I have a roomette on the Lake
Shore. I generally board the Florida trains at Newark.
