   I just read that Carstens Publications is going out of business. This is   
   the publisher of "Railfan and Railroad" and "Model Railroad Craftsman"   
   and some other title about model planes.   
      
   R&R deteriorated a lot over the past 5 or so years, particularly after   
   Curtis Katz and Jim Boyd passed away. I let my subscription go a few   
   years ago, partly due to the state of the magazine and partly due to my   
   not having time to get through what I had. I'd pick up a copy here and   
   there on a newsstand, and enjoyed some of it.   
      
   Sorry to see it go, but I guess the combination of losing key people,   
   the general decline in paper press, and, I gather they suffered a lot of   
   damage at their headquarters from Super Storm Sandy.
