I'm not sure as I have never       >used a taxi in Seattle (or elsewhere in North America for that matter)       >but I don't think they count as a carpool for the carpool lanes on I-5.              They do, but the HOV lanes can be plenty slow and congested.              http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/hov/              The light rail from SEA is not as fast as the fastest taxi trip, but       it is always faster than the slowest taxi trip. The consistent travel       time is one of the good things about it, you can plan and know when       you'll be there. And, of course, it's cheap.              --       Regards,       John Levine, johnl@iecc.com, Primary Perpetrator of "The Internet for Dummies",       Please consider the environment before reading this e-mail. http://jl.ly              --- SoupGate/W32 v1.03        * Origin: LiveWire BBS -=*=- UseNet FTN Gateway (1:2320/1)    |
