|    Caught in middle of RR trestle    |

From: jerryb44@gmail.com              This recent incident ...              http://www.abc15.com/news/national/unbelievable-video-train-runs       over-women-attempting-to-cross-railroad-bridge-women-survive              ... got me wondering how much the ground clearance would be for a typical       locomotive. Or whether that varies a lot and in this case perhaps clearance       was greater than average.       Appears to me that with quite a few road switchers there would not be enough       clearance for survival in such a situation. The scoop shaped front apron looks       much like a snowplow blade and seems like it would not be the least bit       forgiving. But, wonder if        there could've been something about how the tracks were laid on this trestle       that made for a little more clearance?              --- SoupGate/W32 v1.03        * Origin: LiveWire BBS -=*=- UseNet FTN Gateway (1:2320/1)    |
