   That's just it though. The Koch Brothers do not want to see gas taxes   
   put back where they were, as this whole series of web pages they put   
   together opposes a new transportation bill. They just use unrelated   
   Amtrak anecdotes to try to accomplish that (because Amtrak is not funded   
   by the transportation bill they are so opposed to).   
      
    One of their significant investments is in oil. You would think that   
   they would have enough sense to realize that investments in highways via   
   the gas tax would ultimately benefit their industry. Apparently they   
   just look at it as a price increase that decreases (hah!) demand.   
      
   If you can find some other reason why the Koch Brothers behave as they   
   do, I would love to hear it.
