Women will therefore find out en masse that        JP> they cannot vote in November.               It hasn't passed the senate yet, or been signed by Trump. While it is        disingenuous in the sense that it doesn't solve a material problem        (anyone, name a presidential election affected by illegal votes, or        better yet, document the number of cases of votes by illegal aliens?)               What it does do is pressure states to turn over voter rolls to DHS,        something the courts have overruled. It disenfranchises women voters,        as you've mentioned, and makes minorities in this country legally less        likely to vote due to misinformation and fears.               (And, you know ICE will be out in force at Blue election centers to        lessen the threat that illegal voters pose)               Poor people without proper documentation will be forced to pay for        copies of birth certificates, a de facto poll tax.               The Trump administration is closing down passport issuance at public        libraries, because when you want to force people to use passports or        other means of proof of citizenship, of course you MAKE IT HARDER TO        US CITIZENS TO OBTAIN THOSE DOCUMENTS.               And smug conservatives and MAGA respond with "I never had a problem        showing ID at a gas station or grocery store..."               Really? You've been asked to show PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP? No, you've been        asked to show proof of age or proof of identity.               It's all about disenfranchising voters. The administration has said as        much!                                                  --- MultiMail/Win v0.52        * Origin: http://realitycheckbbs.org | tomorrow's retro tech (1:218/700)       SEEN-BY: 10/0 1 102/401 103/1 705 105/81 106/201 124/5016 128/187       SEEN-BY: 129/14 305 153/7715 154/110 214/22 218/0 1 215 601 700 810       SEEN-BY: 218/840 860 880 226/30 227/114 229/110 112 134 206 300 307       SEEN-BY: 229/317 400 426 428 470 700 705 266/512 291/111 292/854 301/1       SEEN-BY: 320/219 322/757 342/200 396/45 460/58 633/280 712/848 902/26       SEEN-BY: 5075/35       PATH: 218/700 229/426           |
