   President Trump has indicated that he wants to give every American a $2,000   
   check from the tariff pool.   
      
   There are a few points to be made about this.   
      
   The first is... check?   
      
   WTF, the US is still living in the Stone Age if you still literally think in   
   terms of checks!   
      
   In Europe, that's a currency from literally the last century.   
      
   The other point is: who pays the import tariffs? The consumers! So, to   
   compensate for having to pay more for foreign goods, you get a tax break of   
   $2,000. I'd call that a self-imposed tax break.   
      
   Then there's the fact: WHO gets those checks? Every American? So children,   
   prisoners, the elderly, and legal aliens too? That's still unclear.   
      
   What's also unclear is when that check will arrive.   
      
   I think it will happen when Easter and Christmas fall on the same day. But   
   that might be a bit too soon. Maybe that's the second time this will happen?   
      
   One final comment on this... Biden gave money to Americans during the   
   coronavirus crisis. It was well-intentioned, but I noticed that many Americans   
   in poor areas of the US were able to live off that money. So they stopped   
   working during the period the money arrived.   
      
   Biden also received a lot of criticism from Republicans for simply giving   
   money to the common people. So, with Biden, it was a sin, but if Trump does   
   it, then it's okay, right?
