   In the US, Democratic candidates performed very well in the midterm elections.   
   The most important positions went to Democratic candidates, such as the   
   mayoralty in New York and the governorships in Virginia and New Jersey. In   
   California, as in Texas, the electoral district is now being adjusted to make   
   it unlikely that Republicans will win any more seats in Congress. This is in   
   response to Texas, where Republicans had already pulled this stunt.
