RL> won't be the case for the long term.

We're defeating the media by taking their funding sources away? I agree to
some extent; PBS lost their funding I guess. But we need to do more. I really
hope that Trump and his team have a comprehensive plan to fight back against
the media, because they haven't been punished enough yet.

RL> Elimination of the Dept. of Ed was a good start. What we need is for
RL> 1. Elimination of the teacher's union. It's obviously not for the
RL> teachers. 2. Elimination of rules prohibiting someone from setting up
RL> their own school. 3. School of Choice regulations so that the money for
RL> a student follows the student to the school chosen. No more double-pay
RL> if you want to sent your kid to a private school.

I don't think the Dept. of Ed has been eliminated yet, but supposedly there
have been workforce reductions there, which is a good start.

Is there any legitimate reason for unions (of any sort) to still exist? We
have laws. If employers don't follow them, they get fined and/or sued. Isn't
   that good enough?

I'd rather hand my money directly to an attorney, when necessary, then hand it
   to a union every paycheck.

Which level of government has the power to stop unions? I'm guessing it's the
   state.

    RL>
RL> We are reaching that point soon. Home schooling is on the rise.

My daughter will finish high school before it ever happens, but I'm hoping
that charter schools become an option for my youngest kid.
