TID: Mystic BBS 1.12 A49       MSGID: 1:342/201 226dc153       REPLY: 1:129/42 c7a1ee9b       TZUTC: -0700       On 08 Oct 2025, Anthony Bonante said the following...               AB>         AB> IJ> We are a Republic, not a democracy, and we survive on the rule of law        AB>         AB> The United States is both a republic and a democracy, functioning as a        AB> constitutional federal republic that operates on democratic principles.        AB>               It's a Republic... Please               Please show me where in the Constitution, or any other founding document where       the word Democracy is??              <--- Insert here...              Even the Pledge of Allegiance...              :Start       "I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND TO THE       REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY       AND JUSTICE FOR ALL."       :Stop              Says... "And to the Republic for which it stands"... NOTE it doesn't say the       Democracy and or Democratic Republic, or any other derivative... It's clear...       "And to the Republic for which it stands"              After the Constitution, the legal document we use as a legal framework for our       Republic... Benjamin Franklin responded to a woman's question...              https://www.youtube.com/shorts/spxPsUEJNls              He responded... We are a REPUBLIC but only if we can keep it.              He didn't say a Democratic Republic but only if we can keep it.              During the creation of the Constitution, and saving the country from failure       were the things added to said document that makes it not democratic.              During that time they had to add features to the constitution that made it not       a democracy.              Small states like Rhode Island, Connecticut and any other small State did       not want to sign on to the constitution as a Democracy because they'd be       beholden to the whims of the large states like New York and when not...              So they added things like... El Rections are not done by Popular Vote but       rather the Electoral Collage. Though The House has proportional        epresentation... The Senate has 2 Senators per-state to assist the states that       have less population. Wyoming has 1 house Rep and 2 Senators... California       has 52 House Reps and... 2 Senators.              During this time they added the Amendment process and agreed to in part for       the first 10 Amendments... The Bill of Rights...               All of this was done to minimize centralized power and to maximize the power       of the people.              Had the US been a democracy Hillary would have been a President... But since       it's a Constitutional Republic she was served her walking papers... Thanx to       Daddy Trump.              Yes, the US settles matters of who is going to represent the people though       democratic processes... At the end it is a Republic.              And thats where the Democratic process ends...              I will wait for you to respond to my question... where in the constitution       does it day Democracy or Democratic Republic...              IB Joe, Pronouns (FJB/LGB)        AKA Joe Schweier       SysOp of 4A 6F 65 73 42 42 53        -=JoesBBS.com=-              ...
