There's no way in hell that "nobody's        RL> AT> willing to run as a Republican for state assembly." I'd do it if I wa        RL> AT> nominated, but that would spoil the Democrats' plans and they won't l        RL> AT> that happen.        RL>         RL> Rather, no one is willing to spend the money on an election they know        RL> that they will lose.              AFAIK you have to get a certain number of signatures to get your name on a       ballot. That shouldn't cost anything, but I don't know what the exact       procedure is for collecting the signatures; I assume there's a special form to       use and it seems like the names in the signatures would have to be verifiable       somehow. I'm in no position to ask those questions to the elitist who runs the       Republican Committee, but I will encourage other to do so.               RL> Which is why I say that NYC is one party controlled now. There's no way        RL> out at this point short of a violent revolution. And Trump will put        RL> that down no matter who's side is "right".              I'm hoping that Trump puts his foot up a lot of butts in New York. I emailed       Linda McMahon's office about the DEI still in place in my school district. I       ended the email with "The left thrives on other peoples' money, so please take       it away from them."               RL> It's hard for people to step outside their comfort zone. It sometimes        RL> takes a lot of pressure for them. They like to see the world as it was,        RL> not as it is now.              Yea I'm in love with 1980s - 1990s New York. When we lived in New Mexico I       kept telling my wife how much "better things are in New York" but by the time       we moved here the state made a liar out of me.               RL> AT> You already know this but let me re-enforce: Don't write to him/her,        RL> AT> and don't email them or call them either. Talk to them face to face.        RL>         RL> Yup. He'll be doing some stumping soon because he's up for reelection        RL> next year. I'll be pulling his voting record and publically asking him        RL> why he's a RINO.              Joe's rep is a rino? That sucks! I thought everyone in Florida was cool. I       like Byron and Myra.               RL> AT> Do: visit their office, heckle them at public events, because putting        RL> AT> them on the spot makes them uncomfortable, and they need to learn wha        RL> AT> it's like to feel uncomfortable.        RL>         RL> Channelling Crazy Maxine Waters? :)              I wouldn't harass them "while they're eating dinner with their families" like       Maxine calls for, but I look forward to opportunities to call them out at       public events.              --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A49 2023/04/30 (Windows/64)        * Origin: JoesBBS.Com, Telnet:23 SSH:22 HTTP:80 (1:342/201)       SEEN-BY: 105/81 106/201 128/187 129/14 305 153/7715 154/110 218/700       SEEN-BY: 226/30 227/114 229/110 206 300 307 317 400 426 428 470 700       SEEN-BY: 229/705 266/512 291/111 292/854 320/219 322/757 342/200 201       SEEN-BY: 396/45 460/58 633/280 712/848 902/26 5075/35       PATH: 342/201 200 229/426           |
