   today it occured to me that over here in Germany, a shutdown like the one     
   you are having not for the first time would probably lead to utter despair     
   and many collective suicides. Most Germans just cannot live without a     
   government telling them what to do and what not to do. So even though I     
   see the danger of Trump's policies (or should I say: of his character), I     
   also look with admiration at the US for the mere fact that you are able to     
   live through this :-).
