The US Secretary of War has summoned ALL 800 (!) top military officials to a
   meeting in Virginia.

That hasn't happened in thirty years.

It could mean three (or four) things...

   1. He's going to fire a significant number of them. (Which I find unlikely,
because he's not such a hero that he would do that in front of them.)

   2. There will be a massive reorganization that will force them to make huge
cuts. (Which I also find unlikely, because Musk hasn't exactly proven
successful, and Trump only SAYS he wants to cut costs, but in reality, he's
   just spending more and more.)

   3. They need to prepare for war with...

I fear the latter. Preparation for conflict. That could explain Trump's shift,
who now realizes he can't make a nice and lucrative deal with Putin and
possibly also realizes that China is now pulling the strings on all fronts.

Everyone is looking at Putin, who threatens to unleash World War III, but all
Putin has achieved is a local war he can't win.

Is Trump going to pull a stunt and escalate the situation?

I fear so, because even Trump must see that what he's been doing has only
ensured that no one wants to do business with the US anymore.

The question is: Who or what will attack the US?

   Is it Canada/Greenland?

Is it Canada, Greenland, and Mexico?

   Is it Russia?

   Or is it even China?

The worst part is that we can only guess. That's how dangerous the world has
   become under Trump.

The worst part is that we can practically rule out the US coming to Ukraine's
aid. After all, that would be logical, but until three days ago, Trump didn't
even mention it and was on Russia's side. Of all the possibilities, it would
be the most humane, because a US commitment, preferably in the form of aid in
resources, could truly stop the war. But is anyone willing to take that
scenario seriously? After all, to do that, you don't need to send in the 800
highest-ranking soldiers. Aiding Ukraine in the form of resources is the
simplest solution, and to do that, you don't need soldiers, you need to bring
CEOs together. The US needs to produce more weapons. If it doesn't, Europe
will do it and take over the US arms trade.

A fourth option is that Hegseth simply wanted to meet everyone and, well,
spend a few hundred million to send in 800 high-ranking military personnel and
their staff—who has a problem with that?
