MSGID: 1:135/250@fidonet 68c2083d       PID: C-NET AMIGA BBS 5.36b       On Wed 10-Sep-2025 7:45a, Ron L.@1:120/616.0 said to Aaron Thomas:       RL> AT> Had I known prior to this that       RL> AT> Hyundais were being made in the USA, I would have been more open to       RL> AT> buying one. But now they can forget it; I'd rather buy a Japanese car       RL> AT> than buy an American car that was made by illegal immigrants.              The cars themselves are not nor intended to be made my illegal immigrants.        The workers brought over were supervising the construction of the plant, and       the installation and training on the assembly line tooling and manufacture       procedures for the companies spec.              Does not excuse the visa issues, as that is the responsibility of the parent       company.              I worked in Korea for 13.5 years. The US company that employeed me were very       meticulous regarding the original paperwork, the renewal paperwork which at       best occured once a year, at worst every 4 to 6 months. Depending on funding       availibility at the time of renewal. There were ALWAYS contingency plans in       plan during delays (IE: If we do not have the paperwork approved ready to be       taken to immigration by xxx. You will be leaving the country until such time       as they are approved..).. Any lapse in our VISAs (OVERSTAYS), could have       resulted in fines, deportation (jailed until we were deported), and an entry       ban.               Even with a valid visa, any negative involvement with the Korean legal system,       immigration was waiting in the wings to begin deportation investigations, even       if the charges were dismissed or dropped.              This is the reason I have no sympathy in this matter, any protests is the pot       calling the kettle black.              Rug Rat (Brent Hendricks)       Blog and Forums - www.catracing.org       IMAGE BBS! 3.0 - bbs.catracing.org 6400       C-Net Amiga BBS - bbs.catracing.org 6840       --- CNet/5        * Origin: The Rat's Den BBS (1:135/250)       SEEN-BY: 1/19 120 16/0 18/0 19/10 37 104/119 105/81 106/201 114/10       SEEN-BY: 116/116 120/616 123/0 25 130 180 525 755 3001 3002 4040 128/187       SEEN-BY: 129/14 305 135/0 115 205 220 250 363 366 385 388 390 391       SEEN-BY: 142/104 153/757 7715 154/10 30 50 110 700 203/0 218/700 840       SEEN-BY: 220/30 90 221/1 6 242 360 222/2 226/18 30 44 50 227/114 229/110       SEEN-BY: 229/206 300 307 310 317 400 426 428 470 700 705 240/5832       SEEN-BY: 250/1 266/512 275/1000 280/464 5003 291/111 292/854 301/1       SEEN-BY: 320/119 219 319 2119 322/757 762 326/101 335/364 341/66 234       SEEN-BY: 342/200 396/45 423/81 460/58 633/280 712/848 1321 902/26       SEEN-BY: 2320/105 3634/0 12 24 27 56 57 58 60 5075/35       PATH: 135/250 115 3634/12 154/10 221/6 1 320/219 229/426           |
