MSGID: 1:135/250@fidonet 68bfac82       PID: C-NET AMIGA BBS 5.36b       On Mon 8-Sep-2025 4:22p, Aaron Thomas@1:342/200.0 said to Brent Hendricks:              AT> Americans are no better. Our Democrats favored slavery just like their       AT> Josean dynasty did. Then they implemented segregation. And most recently       AT> they let 3000 black and brown people die along the US-Mexico border.              Granted, except for the most part we have moved past that, Korea has NOT, and       probbably never will. Now, there are some parallels that will be obvious so I       don't feel I need to touch on them from the American side.              Korea as a society (mostly due to the confusious upbringing that frowns above       individial identiy and thought). Which not only holds them back       technologically, but socially as well (One glaring part of this is seen in       aviation training.)              * It took them DECADES to adopt a safety first culture, and adopt Crew Resouce       Management. Even when the rest of the western world embraced and adopted it.        The most recent example was Asiana 214, that besides the fact the training       Captain misunderstood a function of the Auto Throttle system, 2 other Captains       on the flight deck were not monitoring, or call for a go around until it was       too late. 1994 Korean Air 2033. Crashed on attempting to land in Jeju while       trying to beat a typhoon. The approach became unstable and the CoPilot       mentioned several times he wanted to GO AROUND. A Canadian Captain told the       First Officer to continue. At about 40 AGL the First Officer did attempt to       go around, and the Captain took over and set the plane down. Too far down the       runway to stop in time and the Airbus A-300 exited the end of the runway. The       Korean authorities jailed the first officer, and the Canadadian Captain was       released on bail with a promise to return, which he did not. At least in the       US it is unheard of to threaten or enact arrests stemming from transportation       accidents for fear it will deter other flight crews from being forthcoming in       the subsequent investigations. Additionally MOST if not ALL Western carriers       have abopted a NO FAULT GO AROUND POLICY, if either crew feels a go around is       called for, for ANY REASON. A Go Around should be carried out, and if       countermanded, questions will be asked. This may have also lead to a later       crash of a KAL cargo plane at Londan Standsted. Where the Captains Artifical       Horizon Indicator was faulty, though both the Standy ADI, and First Officers       ADI were functiong nomrally. The Captain and First Officer had already had       words during the prelfight. The captain innitated a standard departure turn,       and the ADI still showed straight an level flight, so the Captain continued       banking the aircraft. Even with the illumination of a "Comparitor Error"       warning and the Flight Engineer warning of excessive bank the First Officer       said nothing while the Captain rolled the 747 into the ground! The First       Officer SHOULD have pointed out the comparitor error and bank, or taken       control. Instead he decided it was better to die than question a superior!              Don't even get me started on the Sewol disaster, which supposedly they       couldn't start their rescue operation because they couldn't locate the       President, who was getting a hair cut! Leading to the death of over 300       children! Even during the political fall out, trial and arrest of Park Gyun       Hee, nobody though to point out, "If our command and control structure relys       on ONE PERSON to dispatch the Coast Guard to a vessel in distress, our command       and control structure SUCKS!"              Korean can not move past their own history and use it as a sheild from any       type of growth. Blaming Japanese Colonialization, fast industrialization, the       Korean War, the Dictatorship of Park Chung Hee, etc. They have ended up with       a an emotionly immature society that from the outside looks entirely       narcacistic. Couples dress the same. Friendships end because someone likes a       different style of music, doesn't eat the same food. When you ask the simple       question, of "Well, we both like this type of food, why can't when we go out       we eat this then you are with your other friends you can eat that." They just       can't compute that, it's different, and accepting difference will lead to a       break down of social order! We can't be friends! My ex wife at times acted       like she matured to the age of 12 and that was it, she would rage for hours       over the stupidest of things, or things that did not even concern her. Korea       even has a diagnosis for this, Hwabyung, or Korean Rage Syndrome. Again, its       somebody else, my history doesn't make me accountable!               The Korean school system is brutal, children spend over 12 hours a day doing       nothing but school work, first their normal school, then after school Hogwan       until 10pm or so, then go home and study, all to prepare them for the       "national exam", which if they fail means they will not get into a good       university, will not get a good job, which will disgrace their family.               The No No Japan protests and boycots. Almost nobody involved in that was even       alive during the Japanese occupation. If you got the people that were, it       would just be a bunch of old farts hanging out together.              Korea wants the foreign tourism, with their low birthrate they will have to       accept the fact they will need more and more foriegn workers.              As more an more social problems mount, they either enact sweeping open ended       laws that can trap everyone, which leads to them being used for retaliation,       "Privacy of face", "Defamation Using Truth", even the newly enacted "Anti       Stalking Laws."              As already stated, South Korea is IN CRISIS record suicides, record low birth       rates, people trying to leave the country in droves to escape HELL JEOSAN.        Heck when I was checking in for my flight out of there, I mentioned I had       lived there for 14 years, the guy looked up and said, "You're getting out of       prison...".              Any way, back on track. My original post which I strayed FAR AFIELD, was I       find it hillarious that the South Korean government is up in arms about this,       which means South Koreans are being stirred into a tizzy, AND especially the       English Teachers, which given the thin ice (No pun attended) they always are       on living there on a work VISA are upset. Though they are quite the left wing       bunch. I do have to say though, when I had my runin with their Immigration       they were fair and came down in my favor. I know other people though (Who       happened to be black) that did not fare as well (And they had their original       charges dropped by the prosecutors.).              Turn about is fair play!              AT> This seems like a misunderstanding; they thought that if they kiss our       AT> butts and build cars here, then it would be "totally cool" to sneak 500       AT> illegals in (it's so not cool though.)              Oh I don't think there was a misunderstanding AT ALL.. They rolled the dice       and got caught. OR and this may be a good topic for the conspiracy echo.              The new President is also very left leaning, and is courting Russia and China       and might be looking for a way to stir up AntiAmerican setiment to force a       troop withdrawl. I noticed a lot of Koreans are pretty nieve about the threat       from North Korea. When I was in Cambodia touring the Killing Fields with my       Ex, I pointed out that if for some bizarre reason North Korea won a war with       the South. This is exactly what would happen. She looked at me and said, "OH       NO!!! We are all all Korean.." I just shook my head and pointed to the stupa       with 5,000 Kmhere skulls in it. "3 Million Kmere though the same thing, there       are 5,000 of them looking at you!"                            AT> --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A49 2023/04/30 (Windows/64)       AT> * Origin: JoesBBS.Com, Telnet:23 SSH:22 HTTP:80 (1:342/200)              Rug Rat (Brent Hendricks)       Blog and Forums - www.catracing.org       IMAGE BBS! 3.0 - bbs.catracing.org 6400       C-Net Amiga BBS - bbs.catracing.org 6840       --- CNet/5        * Origin: The Rat's Den BBS (1:135/250)       SEEN-BY: 1/120 4/0 18/0 19/10 88/0 90/0 93/1 104/119 105/81 106/201       SEEN-BY: 114/10 116/116 120/616 123/0 25 180 525 755 3001 3002 4040       SEEN-BY: 128/187 129/14 305 135/0 115 205 220 250 363 366 385 388       SEEN-BY: 135/390 391 153/757 7715 154/10 30 50 110 700 218/700 840       SEEN-BY: 220/30 90 221/1 6 360 222/2 226/18 30 44 50 227/114 229/110       SEEN-BY: 229/206 300 307 310 317 400 426 428 470 700 705 250/1 266/512       SEEN-BY: 275/1000 280/464 291/111 292/854 301/1 320/219 322/757 335/364       SEEN-BY: 341/66 200 203 234 342/200 396/45 460/58 633/280 712/848       SEEN-BY: 712/1321 880/1 900/0 102 106 902/0 19 26 905/0 2320/105 3634/0       SEEN-BY: 3634/12 24 27 56 57 58 60 5019/40 5075/35       PATH: 135/250 115 3634/12 154/10 221/6 341/66 902/26 229/426           |
