But keep your enemies closer.               AT> That's smart of them (half-smart.) They'll still take your money.        AT> Facebook don't even want my money.              We don't generate enough revenue for them. Between the Brave browser (with a       built-in ad blocker) and me blocking every ad that pops up, I doubt I generate       enough revenue for Facebook to care one way or another.              Amazon, on the other hand, lost a good customer and probably more when I told       everyone I knew about what they did to me.              On top of that, one of the bit needs today is some thing to replace the       "gatekeeper" function of publishers.              It used to be that publishers functioned as a sort of gatekeeper. They would       only publish books that (they think) would probably sell well (i.e. they were       at least pretty good). Today, anyone can publish. So we have tons of ebooks       and, as the saying goes, 90% are crap. But we can't find the 10%. Amazon had       the opportunity to be the way we tell what's crap and what's not, but if they       won't let people leave bad reviews, that won't work.               AT> Don't worry: I'll fill in for you on non-woke reviews on Amazon. Maybe        AT> my air filters seemed a little like they were made by DEI hires, or        AT> something ;)              I buy so little on Amazon today, it would make no difference.                     ... Do not merely believe in miracles, rely on them.       ___ MultiMail/Linux v0.52              --- Mystic BBS/QWK v1.12 A47 2021/12/25 (Windows/32)        * Origin: cold fusion - cfbbs.net - grand rapids, mi (1:120/616)       SEEN-BY: 103/705 104/119 105/81 106/201 114/10 120/616 124/5016 128/187       SEEN-BY: 129/14 305 153/757 7715 154/10 30 50 110 700 203/0 218/700       SEEN-BY: 220/20 30 90 221/0 6 226/18 30 44 50 227/114 229/110 114       SEEN-BY: 229/206 300 307 310 317 400 426 428 470 700 705 240/1120       SEEN-BY: 240/5832 263/1 266/512 280/464 5003 5006 291/111 292/854       SEEN-BY: 292/8125 301/1 310/31 320/219 322/757 341/66 234 342/200       SEEN-BY: 396/45 423/120 460/58 256 1124 467/888 633/280 712/848 770/1       SEEN-BY: 902/26 2320/105 3634/12 5020/400 5054/30 5075/35       PATH: 120/616 154/10 280/464 460/58 229/426           |
