AT> Bjorn, I beg your pardon, but get real. The media is doing the thinking
AT> for you, but that doesn't mean that you can do the thinking for people
AT> who live in a town (in this case a country) that is not your hometown.

You still don't get it, do you?

Let me try to explain it in words that even an indoctrinated MAGA cult
   follower should understand.

Undisputed fact: In the US, with 4.2% of the world population, they consume
around 25% of the total world production.

Since it's a well-known fact that around 30% of the grown-ups in the US
don't know how to do proper percentage maths, let me rephrase it:

At a potluck dinner for 25 people, one person eats a quarter of everything,
leaving the other 24 people to share the rest.

And yet you still believe that you will benefit from tariffs, keeping the
   production within your borders?

Well, good luck with that, when you are forced to reduce your consumption
   down to what you've contributed.

That means that for every five tomatoes you once bought, you'll only get
one. For every five tons of steel your company once purchased, it now
   receives only one ton.

And so on. For every consumer good. Happy starvation. At least you may be
able to solve the obesity pandemic...

Conning people is easy. You just need to overcome their intelligence. But
convincing people they've been conned is much harder. You need to overcome
   their pride.
