   And you are absolutely right.   
      
   I read and re-read your message, and I checked and re-checked the guide,     
   and then a few minutes later there was an a-ha moment when I realized the     
   *error* to assume that both fields can be empty.  I was under a lot of     
   stress with the failing N S and the screetching buzzer noise from oxp.
