   That's right. Despite the name gzip is not a compressor that can handle .zip   
   files. Gzip is for .gz files. Besides gzip is just a compressor not an   
   archiver. On it's own it can only compress 1 file at a time, so you can't   
   create bundles with it (that contain more than 1 file)...
