15 Aug 16 19:06, you wrote to All:               RM> Is there some etiquette as far as points? Do you need to request to add        RM> them to the nodelist or can I just set it up and basically be responsible        RM> for my points as the node (being as how I would be the only one that's        RM> pretty easy.)              you maintain points in your local pointlist... it is like a nodelist with some       slight differences... there's two formats of pointlist... BOSS format and i       forget the other one... the format i've been using on my main system       (frontdoor/remoteaccess) looks like this...              BOSS,1:3634/12,system_name,system_location,sysop,phone,speed,flags       Pvt,1,some_system,some_location,some_operator,-Unpublished,9600,flags       2,another_system,another_location,another_operator,###-###-####,9600,flags              basically the BOSS line is used as the base to add the other lines' numbers       to... Pvt points are just like private systems in the nodelist and have       -Unpublished- in the contact number field... those like the 3rd line are       accessible since they are not marked Pvt and they do have a contact number       listed...              Z1 hasn't every had a published pointlist like Z2 has... basically you       maintain it and keep it local to your system... then anyone wanting to netmail       one of your points has to route the mail to/thru your main system and then       your main system would handle routing the mail to the points...              all of my points can connect to my main system at any time... those that i       have contact information for are notified that they should be online accepting       inbound connections during ZMH... especially if i have contact information for       them and they have not specifically specified that their mail be put on HOLD       for them to pick up...              also, don't let anyone tell you that points cannot be contacted by their boss       or others that have their contact information... they can even fly the online       time flags like full nodes... ;)              )\/(ark              Always Mount a Scratch Monkey              ...
