the rules are a simple set that i derived from several other of the sets of
echos' rules i handle... fidonet is a real names network so real names are
   required in most echomail areas...

JK> However, while I'm at it, I do favor rules banning top posting.

i feel the same way... people really should post inline in the same way that a
real life verbal conversation takes place... we might add that ;)

   with that said,

     1. you should have posted this to my attention in netmail; Rule 4 ;)

     2. i am considering amending the above Rule 5 so that handles/aliases
can be used as long as either the From: field or the signature
contain the poster's real name. this is a compromise used in many
other echos these days and i don't have a problem with it. the
main thing is for folks knowing who they are conversing with and
not having "nym hopping" as is seen in some areas.

     3. right now, at this time, i'll allow this topic to be open for some
discussion but it should not detract from the overall purpose of
        the echo.
