-> JK> I installed Warp 4, fixpak 9, and sio2k. I use a 2 port serial       -> JK> PCI card on IRQ 3. I can start a file transfer but it stalls and       -> JK> dies. So much for sio2k.              -> use the previous version instead of sio2k              With 1.60d, I got the same failure. So much for SIO working with my 2       port PCI card. Or so I thought ...              Some time later, I tested the onboard COM1 port with PCBoard on DOS.       Outbound transfers worked, but inbound failed. Puzzled, I looked at the       BIOS and noticed that power was set on APM. I had it that way for OS/2,       since Warp 4 does not understand ACPI.              I set it back to ACPI, and DOS inbound transfers started working fine.       So the motherboard is buggy when set for APM; the IRQ handling is messed       up.              Knowing that, I left it on ACPI and installed WARP 4 again. Now it all       works. SIO 1.60d and my 2 port serial PCI card on IRQ 3. Amazing what a       little BIOS setting can do.              -> JK> Ray says Warp server ebiz fails when using serial ports and IRQ       -> JK> 3. I also read that the server and client code base was merged       -> JK> as of fixpak 13.              Right now I'm at fixpak 10. Maybe I will go up to 12 and see if it still       works there.              --- PCBoard (R) v15.4/M 250 Beta        * Origin: Torres Vedras - Portugal (2:362/6)    |
