-> Some time ago I bought a used copy of the PCBoard manuals and disks.       -> I've since lost those materials, but I did legally obtain a PCBoard       -> license. Unless I hear otherwise from Fred or CDC, I see no reason why       -> PCBoard users should not become self supporting and use the source code       -> to fix bugs and make derivative works.              It may depend upon area, but around here, PCB was one of the top       softwares used, especially by those at the time who wanted to charge for       their systems. I don't think PCB die because it was no good, Just       probably because it was not able to keep up with the changing times to       an extent. Just like many older bbs packages, it was good, but I think       as things started to dwindle, so did the interest in a pacakge that was       forced to be dead support wise. So If I were You, and You want to go for       it, Why not? I would think that even sysops who ended up leaving still       have fond memories of it if they ran it. What You are saying, sounds       interesting.              Mike              --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5        * Origin: www.holo.homeip.net:8080 -telnet//:holo.homeip.n (1:261/1381)    |
