Hallo Tom,              Op 30 Sep 17 om 10:20 schreef jij aan Joaquim Homrighausen:               TP> 29 Sep 17 23:58, you wrote to Wilfred van Velzen:               JH>> Traditional Pascal *is* quite stale, but was used a lot to teach        JH>> people programming ...               TP> I learned myself how to program in Basic on an Apple //e, and later in        TP> learned pascal. I used that a lot in the good old Fidonet days, it was        TP> great fun! But then I learned VB6 at school and forgot everything        TP> about Pascal... I still use VB.Net that now on a daily basis at work..              Back when I was in secondary school in the 90s, Pascal was taught to some       students of our school, though not to my own class. I taught myself BASIC, and       later VB.NET. I recently looked at the ErrFlags Pascal code for reasons similar        to Wilfred's, and was actually quite positively surprised by the language       itself: it seems to promote a 'better' style of programming than VB. In most       current applications of VB.NET, I think I would prefer to use C# for the same       purpose.              Best regards,       Niels              --- GoldED+/LNX 1.1.5-b20130111        * Origin: Niels's FidoNet Node - fido.joncheere.be (2:292/789)    |
