   I'm extremely uneasy about such a setup.  Having worked with mainframes years   
   ago with two-tailed disk drive controllers attached to separate computers, i'm   
   fairly certain that the usb hub does not come close to providing the locking   
   and protection mechanisms that the old dasd controllers had.  Bear in mind   
   that in the PC world, most of the DASD controller function has been moved into   
   the device driver, so there is no awareness of multiple access paths.
