This sounds a lot like the problem I was having trying to load the
login pahe of my bank credit card. I had had no trouble for years.
Then the web site got "upgraded" and I could no longer load the login
page. The browser connects and both the "status" messages in Firefox
and my IP monitor show that data gets transferred... for a while at
least. The page would never finish loading however.

This problem was not lmiited to Forefox 4.x however. I tried FF 3.s
ans 2.s, Seamonkey 2.x and 1.x and even Arora with the same "results".

(I'd be curious to know if any other OS/2 users could load
   .)
