I'm not seeing this with Seamonkey2.1b3 - not sure if this is using the
   same browser code as Firefox4

   I'm currently playing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwhtL0LNoQw Frank
Zappa - The Torture Never Stops - HQ (may not be to everyones taste :-)

I plugged in a 4Gb USB flash drive without causing any jerky video/audio
   effects, playback continued smoothly.

I must admit that I do not watch many video clips online but have
noticed that some youtube vids seem to be jerky and others play fine. My
wife and son both watch far more online than me and agree with the above.

I also wonder what soundcard driver is involved. If Uniaud it may be
worth trying 1 of the recent builds as they are supposed to fix a few
   problems http://svn.netlabs.org/uniaud

I'm using the controller drivers updated by Lars
   http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/download/pub/os2/system/drivers/misc/usbxhcd8.zip
except that I am using USBOHCD.SYS from the usbxhcd7.zip package as the
later version seems to have problems here.

It might be worth giving the above drivers a try - but, based on my
   experience, use the IBM USBOHCD.SYS.

   Just some thoughts
