   This was one of the things I researched getting a new computer. I went
   with an Intel E6300 which seems to work well. Installing eCS under
   VirtualBox went smoothly [the demo CD didn't work at all, I took a leap
   and ordered the real version.] I agree about the network adapter.
   There seems to be very little info about how to configure the networking
   (DHCP, etc.) I had more problems getting Samba working so I could share
   directories. It's now working OK for me, with minor glitches about
   ownership and permissions, but Samba could be a *lot* easier to get working.

   Now that I've got it working I'd be hard-put to list all the stuff I
   tried and/or did to get there.  I'd like to see a step-by-step cookbook;
   I'd be happy to contribute if anyone starts one, but I don't think I
   could get started myself.
