   If the hang occurs after the last driver has loaded, then wait two   
   minutes before concluding that the machine has hung.  On my 100%   
   Intel machine, it takes 70 seconds for the driver to switch out   
   of legacy mode (which is why I can't/won't use it).  Once it does,   
   startup continues as always.   
      
   BTW... Lars, we may have established this already, but the long delay   
   is "caused" by USBEHCD.  If I rem it out in config.sys, the switch   
   out of legacy adds only a second or two to my startup time.  Also,   
   I see I can now reboot using a USB keyboard after doing a shutdown.
