To me, this is insanity. This approach is making Firefox less and less
appealing. Unfortunately Seamonkey is doing the same thing so I appear
   to be "stuck".

And I deeply appreciate your efforts! (And understand you three having
nothing to do with the "insanity" of the rapid release schedule.)

   Not for me.

As I posted elsewhere, I am having sporadic problems while navagating
   the web:
   - Pages that never finish loading
   - Pages that "finish" loading (as indicated by the throbber and a
"Done" message at the bottom) but are completely enpty. (Even "View
   source" shows nothing!?)

These problems started as I switched to a new system and a DSL
connection (from a very old system with a dialup connection. I did not
have these problems with the old system. So I do not think the
problems are due to some inherent part of eCS.

My DSL provider, Verizon, will not help me unless I pay them because I
am not using Windows. And I cannot afford to pay them. So I have been
trying to figure out what is going on by myself, with help from kind
   people like you on Usenet.

As part of my search for the cause(s) of my problems, I deleted the
   MOZILLA_HOME and MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH settings from CONFIG.SYS so I could
try different browsers, each with their own profiles.

I have found that while the problems do not disappear they are less
severe if I start with a fresh profile. And I started looking at the
Firefox "Error Console" to see if there indications of why these pages
were causing so much trouble. It is while I was looking at the Error
Console right after deleting the profile directory that I noticed that
there were errors before I evan started trying to load the problematic
pages. This is what led me to my question about the errors that seem
to accompany a fresh install of Firefox.

Any suggestions for how I can diagnose or fix my bigger problem (or
where I should go to get such help) will be greatly appreicated!

   Thanks!
