   I'm fairly sure that the fill MMPM2.INI in boot:\MMOS2 is the file you need to
   edit (this is a text
   file, not an OS2 INI file).

   Here are the relevant sections form the file on my T60:

   ...

   [Drivers]
    Digitalvideo=IBMDIGVIDPLAYER01,IBMMPEGPLAYER01
    Speaker=SPEAKER
    Headphone=HEADPHONE
    Microphone=MICROPHONE
    Filter=IBMFILTER01,IBMFILTER02,IBMFILTER03
    Waveaudio=UNIAUDWAVE01
    Ampmix=UNIAUDAMPMIX01
    CDaudio=IBMCDAUDIO01

   ...

   [IBMCDAUDIO01]
    VERSIONNUMBER=2.0
    PRODUCTINFO=IBMCDAUDIO
    MCDDRIVER=CDAUDIO
    VSDDRIVER=GENCDVSD
    PDDNAME=CDROM
    MCDTABLE=MDM
    RESOURCENAME=CD1
    DEVICEFLAG=1
    DEVICETYPE=3
    SHARETYPE=2
    RESOURCEUNITS=1
    RESOURCECLASSES=1,1
    PARMSTRING=Drive=1,Caps=40000313:000001CA:B:2
    CONNECTORS=1,6,HEADPHONE,1
    ALIASNAME=Compact Disc

   If I am correct, the CDaudio line in your Drivers section should read

    CDaudio=IBMCDAUDIO01,IBMCDAUDIO02

   and you should have an additional section headed [IBMCDAUDIO02].

   Back up the file just in case. Then try deleting the IBMCDAUDIO02 section
   entirely and the reference
   to it on the CDaudio line.
