My current T43p with eCS 2.1 is starting to have some fan issues. So I went
on eBay and got a similar model, figuring that I can just swap out the hard
drives and keep on trucking. But alas that turns out not to be the case. When
I put my hard drive into the new unit it boots XP just fine and all functions
as expected. But when I attempt to boot the eCS V2.1 partition, it starts
doing the JFS checks, make a loud clunk noise and then just shuts off.

The old unit is 2668-H2U and the new is 2687-D5U. The major difference is the
new unit is a little faster processor. I'm still doing a deep dive on the
specs to see what else could be different.

Any hints or thoughts on were to go? I've run the XP PC-Doctor Diags on the
box and it does not report any issues.

Is this a potential APCI issue or possibly just something different? I'm
going to try a fresh install and see if that exhibits the same issues and see
what install differences come out for comparision.
