   1st car was a 71 Impala you started with a screwdriver. Finally got the key   
   start installed...but never dealt with some of the lead pipe they had put in   
   to keep from using hoses. Originally had no heater...but the cousin who sold   
   it to me worked repairing airplanes...so rather than take the dash   
   apart...went in through the right front wheel well. Went to a movie or   
   something when I 1st got it. Forgot to turn it off & burned through 3/4 tank   
   of gas...but it was still there when I got ready to head home.   
      
   Another car I used to drive around this time was a 72 Ford Maverick. Had a 3   
   on the tree which would lock up in 3rd gear. Learned to start off in 3rd   
   because my hands were too big to release the levers. ;)
