   Your understanding is wrong. After my ISP ceased to support POTS, I had   
   DSL until the UART in the machine gave up.   
      
   For christmas I was given a laptop with Win10pro and a WiFi subscription   
   but my BBS machine isn't ready yet to accept WiFi, but will be.
