You confuse Christianity with the Republican Party and
the USA with the world.
In the sime that atheist numbers in the USA grew from a
tiny 902,000 (0.4%) to a pathetic 1,621,000 (0.7%) the
number of Christians in China grew by 300,000,000! 8^o
Clearly, in Global terms, it is atheism which has declined
from insignificance to irrelevance.
When you look only at the USA, which is declining in relative global
importance in most fields, you get a distored view.
It seems to make a large number of you angry and irrational.
Globally the number of believers continues to grow, which is quite
different from the participation in organised religion, which is
declining because Priests and Imams no longer represent the true teachings.
Globally, it is atheism which has declined into irrelevance,
after the catastrophic failure of the Atheist states of the 20th
Century, the Union of Savage Slaughter and Repression (USSR), Mao's
Great Leap Backwards and Cultural Devolution and Pol Pot's Cambodia,
which terrorised tortured and killed over 80,000,000 people.
Since then only one atheist state remains, North Korea.
