   What's funny is that he made landfall at the Bahamas.  So it's a moot    
   question anyway. :-)   
      
   The Bahamas were made interestingly from coral deposits so Columbus had    
   a place to land whether the Americas were there are not (unless the    
   existance of the Americas was necessary for the coral deposits to have    
   occurred in the first place, of course.)
