   It did not seem to work here. The line in about:config is:-   
      
   extensions.checkCompatibility.2.1b user set boolean false   
      
   The same line had worked with 2.1a so all I did was edit prefs.js - with    
   Seamonkey closed - to change the line from 2.1a to 2.1b   
      
   However, some of my extensions did re-install and work without any    
   version "bumping" so I suspect it may have worked partially; other    
   extensions did need version "bumping".
