   That is: There is a deliberate design choice to get rid of it cross platform?   
   Then I have to double check my windows version of ff4 - there the status bar   
   is still available.   
      
   BTW.: Just had the repaint issues while scrolling again. I was editing my   
   homepage using CMSMadeSimple. However, ff eventually repaints the window   
   again and gets rid of the black stripes...   
      
   Thanks for the great work - even without the status bar I like ff4. ;-)
