   Hi,

   > I've got an old T43p (2669H2U) that I've installed eCS V2.0 GA on.
if you install eCS 2.0 with the default-settings, it will install the
buggy and unfinished ACPI-driver on your system, even if it still
supports the legacy IBM APM-driver like the ThinkPad t40-series do.

Enter the pre-boot-menue, select "Legacy Hardware" (s.th. like that) and
reinstall the system that it runs with IBM APM where the powermanagement
for the CPU is working correctly and that uses SNAP instead of Panorama
which also heats up the CPU to accelerate the graphics.

You also can use eCS 1.2R which is mostly the same like eCS 2.0 without
   ACPI and Panorama.

Probably the CPU heats up too much with eCS 2.0, which also is a sign
for a hardware problem with your Thinkpad (cooler, fan, flexing-problem).
