Returning from a trip to the handware shop because of a failure in the
power supply, my computer stops at boot with a message saying
   "NTLDR not found".
Booting from CD, everything seems OK, except that the Boot Manager seems
to be damaged (my guess is that it was screwed by the xp-based CD they
   used to check the hardware).

In LVM, I can see a 7M partition named "[Boot Manager]" (for which some
ot the fields appear to be missing) at the beginning of the 1st disk in
the lower window, but the only choice I am given is to delete it. Only
in the upper window I am offered a chance to install the BM, but that
partition (or volume, I am always been confused by LVM terminology)
   isn't listed there.

What is a safe procedure to reinstall the boot manager?
Through the CD prompt, I can access LVM and even to Dfsee if needed
(although I dare using the latter only under strict expert supervision)

   thanks
