   OK, then that probably isn't your problem.   
      
   I think the other likely reason for the properties failing to open is   
   that the PPD contains some kind of GUI option(s) that the dialog    
   processing code is unable to deal with somehow...   
      
   In which case, I think going with the 2300 driver is probably your   
   best bet, at least for the time being. Unless you can find a prebuilt   
   driver (as I suggested in another message).

   ECUPS is an alternative PostScript driver that comes with CUPS. If   
   you haven't installed it, don't worry about it.
