   I've already tested it a lot.  (-:   
      
   What I'm interested in are these errors that CHKDSK cannot fix, what    
   they are, and whether CHKVOL fixes them.   
      
   But you can try out FORMAT if you like.  You might enjoy seeing what a    
   FAT volume formatted with FORMAT looks like in Linux.  For further    
   enjoyment, run CHKVOL and see what Linux makes of the volume them.  (I    
   mention Linux merely because you have it.  The same enjoyment should be    
   obtainable with Windows NT.  Although, for interesting reasons, it    
   cannot be obtained with DOS-Windows 9x.)   
      
   And when you have a blank FAT volume, there's probably something else    
   that you can try.
